PSA boss plans to use granite in the new upmarket DS models to rival Mercedes-Benzes and Jaguar

DS boss reveals plans of making cars from stones for the new up-market models and plug-in hybrids but there will be no performance model. DS is looking to rival giants like Mercedes-Benz and Jaguar in the European markets. DS boss confirms that new models will use stones in the interior. PSA DS will be the first automaker to use the stones in the interiors of their cars.

According to DS, there are four elements under consideration to modernise DS models. Exceptional designing, Avant-grade technology, dynamic performance and elevated comfort, all these qualities will be conquered by using the innovative materials in the new models. Materials such as precious stones, silvers or granite will be used to adorn the interior of the DS models in the future.

DS will be the first brand from PSA group to modernize the models and introduce Plug-in Hybrid models. It will be a great thing for a premium brand like DS to launch such technology.

DS will use range of technologies to produce the 300hp mark from its Peugeot engines.

There are several racing models in the DS line-up, such as DS3 Racing. These models will be treated differently in future. PSA thinks that the US is still the number one market for premium cars so, it could be on the table. It is very important for the global premium brands to introduce their premium cars in US.
