Cummins to lead Nissan

New Nissan Titan will use the Cummins V8 diesel engine

Next generation Nissan Titan could be a real muscle with all new Cummins V8 diesel engine. After the brake up with Dodge, Cummins engines will be leading Nissan Titan, a 5.0 Litre turbocharged V8 diesel engine will be available and this is really compelling. This muscular engine will offer the power of more than 300 horses. It is a muscular engine that has massive twist of 500 Lb-Ft of torque. With this muscular engine, the Titan will be touting the most hefty light duty truck.

Nissan is offering only two diesel pick-ups, one is the Titan and the other one is Ram 1500 light duty truck. Ram 1500 light duty trucks offer 250 horsepower and 420 Lb-Ft of torque from a V6 Nissan diesel engine and it is expected later this year.

The all new Titan in the second generation was supposed to be in the market by this year – and would be, Chrysler secured its bankruptcy and cancelled their agreement to rebadge the Ram trucks for Nissan. Nissan has totally developed its Titan by using their own means of engineering and it is the result of a cent per cent in-house development. It is the best parallel to Ram trucks.

Cummins Engines is the only supplier that offers diesel engines for both models including Ram and Titan, while the Ram is only diesel model after the Titan and had a V6 developed by Italian manufacturer VM Motori.

Nissan’s present sales and promotional boss Fred Diaz is leading the marketing activities but do you know about his previous job? Let me tell you, CEO of Ram Trucks. Nissan offered him the position after Carlos Ghosn’s view on American markets that they seriously want to target the American Truck Market last year and Nissan poached him from Ram Trucks. Nissan has not yet announced the release date for the new Titan but it is expected to arrive soon this year and as a 2015 model definitely.
