It was one of the first crossovers to get worldwide fame for blending in family hatchback elements with attributes of a crossover. More than two million Qashqais rolled out since2007, when it was first unveiled. New Qashqai is available with four engine options, two petrol and two diesel.<\/p>\n<p>All four <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.enginecompare.co.uk\/model?car=all-nissan-qashqai-engine&amp;model_id=1075\" target=\"_blank\">Nissan Qashqai engines<\/a><\/strong> are turbocharged and equipped with world class technologies like <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Start-stop_system\" target=\"_blank\">start\/stop system<\/a><\/strong> for fuel economy and a cleaner environment.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"What_makes_it_fuel_economical\"><\/span>What makes it fuel economical?<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Petrol engines are powered by direct injection gasoline turbocharged or DIG-T technology and range kicks off with 1.2-litre DIG-T engines. It is an 113bhp engine, in case you were wondering about the power of this tiny machine, it offers a torque of 190Nm.<\/p>\n<p>As it is a small engine, it sound a bit when cruising on the motorway. On the other hand, Nissan claims that it has a brawny performance with extra fuel economy than its predecessor, 1.6-litre petrol engine which was fitted in the previous generation of Qashqai.<\/p>\n<p>In city cruising and on local roads, it is extremely quiet and smooth, although, it lacks a bit in power when revving very low. But for the urban roads, this engine is arguably the pick of the range.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Which_petrol_engine_is_the_top_performer\"><\/span>Which petrol engine is the top performer?<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Despite of smaller engines, Nissan Qashqai is a\u00a0very good performer. But the figures that headline the Qashqai performance, belongs to 1.6-litre DIG-T engine.<\/p>\n<p>It was first released in autumn 2014 with the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.enginecompare.co.uk\/blog\/nissan-gt-r-to-borrow-le-mans-v6-engine\/\" target=\"_blank\">ability to generate the power<\/a><\/strong> of 148 horses and torque of 240Nm. It promised to offer flexible performance with strong in gear acceleration due to its hefty torque.<\/p>\n<p>Despite of its power figures, it has been acclaimed as the most economical engine in the petrol engines line-up.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"What_diesel_options_are_available\"><\/span>What diesel options are available?<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>There are two diesel engines available to select from, a 1.5-litre DCi diesel engine is quieter, smoother, powerful and more economical than ever before.<\/p>\n<p>This engine has received a refresh from Nissan engineers for an extra 20Nm of torque. This tweak is helping the engine for some muscular in-gear acceleration.
