Volvo XC90 T8 plug-in hybrid will arrive with 407 bhp and 134.5mpg to rival Audi Q7 e-tron<\/h1>\n

Volvo has officially revealed the details of its new XC90 T8 and in a bid to blow up the supremacy of Q7 in a very short time the XC90 has been assigned with this mission.<\/p>\n

The new XC90 will be a 407bhp petrol-electric SUV with carbon footprints of only 49g\/km. It emits 5g\/km less carbon than the Audi Q7 engine<\/a><\/strong> and 10g\/km then the previously tested XC90. It will also rival the X5 which has carbon emissions of 77g\/km.<\/p>\n

Volvo has confirmed that the new model is ready for production and pre-production model is available for media test drives. The T8 plug-in hybrid has the power output of 407bhp and a muscular torque of 640Nm. The official fuel economy is much improved and impressive with a stated 134.5 miles per gallon. It shows an improvement of 20mpg over the initial stats given earlier.<\/p>\n

Let\u2019s see what the power department offers, a 2.0 litre four-cylinder Volvo petrol engine<\/a><\/strong> with e-drive technology.<\/p>\n

It offers a peak power of 320bhp while 87bhp comes from the electric motor mounted over the rear axle. The total power of 407bhp is enough to shunt the XC90 from 0-62 miles per hour in 5.6 seconds. All these figures show that the new SUV will be strong enough for elevated performance.<\/p>\n

The new XC90 model will return 26 miles from a pure electric mode and the electric motor could provide continuous all-wheel drive on demand.
