The Budget 2015 gives more funding for <a title=\"Driverless cars\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Google_driverless_car\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>driverless cars<\/strong><\/a> in the UK while they have put a halt on fuel duty for another year. It is a longest freeze on fuel duty.<\/p>\n<p>The government has announced it will spend \u00a3100m on driverless cars and fuel duty will remain the same for another year. A rise was due in last September on fuel duty, but it has been cancelled.<\/p>\n<p>UK will become the leader in driverless <a title=\"Car Technology\" href=\"https:\/\/www.enginecompare.co.uk\/blog\/category\/new-technology\/\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>cars technology<\/strong><\/a> with this additional \u00a3100m spending on different projects. He said that the freeze on fuel duty will save drivers extra \u00a310 on each tank of fuel. But on the customer side, it depends on the cost of fuels in the local market.<\/p>\n<p>The Government is seriously thinking on the development of driverless cars technology and is looking to put the UK at the forefront of this emerging technology. This investment will be spent on development of infrastructures to back up autonomous cars.<\/p>\n<p>There is an increase in the cost of VED (vehicle excise duty) expected at the rate of RPI (Retail Price Index) from this April. The good news is that the rise will be negligible, but <a title=\"Engine compare\" href=\"https:\/\/www.enginecompare.co.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>vehicles manufactured<\/strong><\/a> before 1976 will be exempt from paying VED.<\/p>\n<p>Company car drivers also get some good news as in 2019-20 as the rates for ultra-low emissions will see a dead slow increase.
